Fringe, Florals and Fedora's

So here we are again, Summer, and this can only mean one thing... festival fever. Over the past number of weeks social media has allowed us all to view the onstage antics of the artists bracing the stage. And while the music is a factor in enjoying these events, I think for the ladies its all about the dressing up!

The signature style for all festival revellers, and has been for a significant number of years now has been the high waisted cut off denim shorts with printed tees. this look has become particularly very popular by artists such as Rihanna  and Katy Perry at Coachella. But this year the style stakes have been upped with the new addition of the reviving trends of fringe and fedoras. As a lover of the 70's era I welcome this trend with open arms. Not only has it welcomed the hippiness back into the festival scene but it allows for Boho Chic to to have the epic comeback that it has always deserved. While browsing through  vogue.co.uk last week I spotted these lovely ladies and couldn't help but admire there attire.

These three girls have all embraced this seasons trendiest outfits effortlessly. My favourite is definitely girl number one who decided that fringe and fedoras were a must, and went with the edginess of black, and biker boots instead of traditional wellies.

I hope to make Electric Picnic in Stradbally in September so I am starting to pick out my outfits for the weekend now (fail to prepare, prepare to fail!). My favourite high street shops to hit when the Summer is here is H&M, River Island and the forever faithful Pennys/Primark. As festival tickets can be expensive it is important to be able to look well on a budget, especially as the mud can take over and destroy the clothes so remember that when forking out top money. As mcuh as a love going into a shop, trying something on and physically bringing it home with me, lately I have been converted to online shopping and boohoo.com is fantastic for great bargains and fast delivery. There is one particular fedora on the site in black which I feel is a staple piece for all Summer occasions and not just festivals. And priced at only 20euro it really is an investment.

I shall keep you all updated as to what will end up in bag for Electric Picnic but in the mean time unleash your inner hippy and brake out your fringe!

The Third Policeman

This past weekend I ventured up to Dublin to view everything that the capital had to offer, fashion, friends and frolics. While staying with a friend of mine in Rathmines, Saturday was spent venturing around her new surroundings and helping her familiarise herself with the place. This included discovering where all the best places to go in the area for the ultimate fashion find and bargains. This was a task I was only too willing to help her out with!

Firstly, we began with all the local charity shops, Oxfam, St Vincent de Paul, and Concern. As I am currently in the process of starting a jewellery collection, beads were on my list to look out for! This proved to be a bit of a disappointment, but various forms of timeless classics were bought in the form of novels. I highly recommend all book worms to head to Oxfam in Rathmines for the best finds on random books that you would never discover in Eason’s or O’Mahony’s book shelves.
While on this adventure, we discovered a shop that will most definitely become my new “must go” place when it comes to searching for unique pieces for all occasions. As a self confessed fashion lover, I have experimented with many different styles and genres of fashion over the past view years but there is something truly astonishing about owning a piece of clothing or accessory which has been previously owned by another and the background engraved in the rare find in these stores.

The theme of the 20′s is bursting through the walls of this Rathmines establishment, and it is displayed so elegantly that it is impossible not to want to dress up in the thrill and frill of all the stock available. As I embark on this new Factory F adventure, for those of you who happen to stick with me will soon learn that I have a fond liking for hats, especially fedoras! And let me tell you, the collection available in this shop had been very excited about spending all my wages in there on my next visit. Old retro shirts are definitely another staple characteristic of what this shop has to offer.

The price range on this shop and from the stock I was looking at which mainly included hats, shirts and dresses, ranged from 20-60Euro, which is very well priced considering the vintage staple.

I cannot speak highly enough of this Rathmines boutique, and by discovering the place made my wet adventure to the rainy capital worth the effort and journey.

A new beginning

For a very long time I have wanted to start a blog and today I took a leap of faith and went for it. I have recently finished up college where I studied business with event management and PR. I have a few a few very passionate topics in my life, and this blog will showcase this above all, and these are my love for social media, fashion and the crazy world of PR. For the past four years I have dedicated all my college focus on establishing a portfolio of fashion concepts and ideas which will aid me in developing my career in fashion PR. As a recent graduate, I really believe this blog will inspire other college students in the position, or who are going to be in this position, to make the first steps to making your career happen. I will regularly post about the latest fashion trends, and the looks which I will be wearing, as well as all the latest topics within the fashion industry. Hope everyone enjoys what they are reading. Please feel free to leave comments, all advice is taken on board
